Lest We Forget: Residual Recollection of Prof. Bassey Andah’s Research Influences – S.W. Petters (2005)
In the 6th memorial lecture delivered on January 25 2005, Professor S.W. Petters, world renowned geologist with profound interest in cultural archaeology and anthropology, takes us on a tour of the many exertions of Professor Andah as archaeologist, historian and anthropologist, focusing especially on the main points of intersections between his own scholarship and that of Bassey Andah.
The lecture demonstrates clearly the mutually beneficial impacts these two scholars exerted on each other in their many efforts to push back knowledge about the Africa to the earliest times as well as the economic benefits of these endeavours.
