People, Culture, Technology and National Development in Africa – Professor P. Anyang Nyong’o (2006)
One of the most important concerns of Professor Bassey Andah which he approached with a crusading spirit was the search for an appropriate paradigm for knowledge generation, articulation and use that would conduce to the rapid development of Africa. This was the theme for the 7th lecture.
The problems addressed are basically that of urgent need to de-colonize, de-Europeanize, de-conceptualize existing knowledge on Africa and thus produce a body of knowlege reflective of African values, philosophies, paradigms and current challenges.
